Heeling Length

I brought Kastle to Pawsitive to work on heeling after class today. It was the first time we did more than 5 paces. Also, I introduced the very first turn - to the right - and got bit. He appeared to think that I was releasing the ball under my arm and jumped up to catch his reward only to hit my wrist. His reflexes were sufficiently fast enough to release without even scratching the skin though.

The Two Guys of My Heart

We dogsat Midas this whole week and it warmed my heart to see my old man for such a prolonged length of time. It was also lovely to see how much Kastle liked him :-)

Heeling/Hold and a Breakout

Upping the distance to 5 paces with lure (ball) under the arm.
Kastle is now consistently offering the strike on the dowel. Lots of support for the forward movement.
After training, we kenneled everyone up and went out to dinner. When we opened the door upon coming home, Kastle was there to greet us. I am immediately thinking "uh oh, this isn't good". The goober busted open the front panel of his wire kennel and had the run of the house for around 3 hours. What did he do? He got his toy, pulled my blanket (that I use every single night on the couch) down and laid there apparently the whole time. Not one other thing was touched. What a good boy!

Hold with Movement

Today Kastle's hold session included commitment with hand tap and kibble by his face (if he drops the dowel to go for the kibble, that is wrong).  I introduced him to moving around with the dowel in his mouth - something that really stressed him out so I am giving him a lot of support to help him out. This was also the first time he offered the strike to the dowel.

A New Sister!

We decided to add another Cardigan Welsh Corgi to our family.  Poppy comes from the same breeder and is Eden's half-sister. She hated Kastle at first and lunged, snapping at him over and over at first. Now they get along fine and are the two most often playing together.

Playin' in a Pack

The gang went to the park for Kastle's 8 month birthday and had an absolute blast! It's wonderful to see the three totally different temperaments get along so well.
 Running in reverse:
Picking on the big guy.
My two cuties.

Frisbee Fool

Kastle is so athletic and it shows when we are playing frisbee.
 Proud pup.
